Panelbeater
Automotive · Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25/hr
Each job starts with the job sheet and an assessment, and ends with your sign-off after quality checks. In between, you repair collision damage, trial-fit parts and get the vehicle ready for paint. An established Otago automotive repair business is hiring a Panel Beater / Repair Technician who works reliably and pays close attention to detail.
The work is varied, including structural and prestige repairs, and you may get to work on high-profile brands such as Tesla and Jaguar Land Rover. The workshop is modern with current equipment, ongoing I-CAR certification training and structured development.
If you trained in South Africa, have your trade certificate and work history ready to show.

- Fix collision and panel damage to a professional standard, using the approved methods and following instructions
- Ask management for direction whenever a repair needs more guidance
- Test-fit new parts to make sure they sit right, and report anything missing, incorrect or extra
- Have all your repairs done before the car goes through to paint
- Tag removed components with the job number and keep them stored neatly so nothing goes astray
- Hand repaired panels and parts over to the Paint Department ready to go
- Run final reassembly checks, setting headlight aim and any other adjustments required
- Look over finished repairs for quality and safety, then sign off once every required check is complete
- Keep a steady pace without letting repair standards drop
