Registered Nurse

In a premium residential aged care home in Three Kings, Auckland, your shifts revolve around residents: assessing their health, updating care plans and making sure each person keeps their dignity. This role is for Registered Nurses who can prove genuine, verifiable experience and are ready to have their credentials assessed for a nursing career in New Zealand.

It is about more than landing an overseas job. You will be assessed on your nursing background, qualifications, English ability and readiness for New Zealand's professional requirements. Suitable international nurses can get guidance through the Nursing Council registration process and, where it applies, the CAP pathway.

Key Responsibilities

  • Give safe nursing care shaped around each resident's own needs
  • Carry out full clinical assessments and ongoing health observations, and write and review personalised care plans
  • Keep clinical records accurate, complete and up to date
  • Watch for changes in residents' health and raise concerns through the right channels
  • Protect residents' dignity, independence, comfort and quality of life, and earn the trust of residents and their families
  • Work hand in hand with care assistants and other health professionals, giving care assistants clinical guidance and mentoring
  • Encourage everyone to use best-practice care procedures consistently
  • Take part in quality improvement work and help keep clinical care and service at a high standard
  • Talk clearly with residents, families and the care team
  • Use sound professional judgement in clinical and resident-care situations
  • Help keep the home culturally inclusive and respectful, and work to the relevant professional, clinical and workplace standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Qualified Registered Nurse with credentials suitable for assessment by the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Minimum 2 years of post-graduate nursing experience
  • Aged care or medical nursing experience preferred
  • NZ Nursing Council CAP approval or willingness to complete the applicable registration pathway, and you are willing to go through New Zealand nursing registration assessment
  • IELTS or OET results that meet the Nursing Council's English language requirements
  • Your education meets New Zealand Registered Nurse scope-of-practice standards
  • You can supply verifiable qualifications and a professional work history
  • You must be able to prove that your qualifications, professional experience and supporting documents are authentic
  • You assess and observe patients with strong clinical skill
  • You write and speak clearly and well
  • You bring compassion and empathy to caring for older people
  • You work well alone and with others, with a positive, team-first attitude
  • Your notes are thorough and detailed, and you are professional, confident and accountable
  • You are committed to quality nursing and keep improving
  • InterRAI competency is advantageous
  • Eligible overseas applicants may be considered for Accredited Work Visa sponsorship; suitable candidates can get support with Nursing Council registration, and CAP assistance may be considered for eligible international nurses
