Technician

Monday-to-Friday hours in a modern workshop, ongoing technical training and room to grow: that is the setting at a professional multi-brand dealership in New South Wales. The work covers passenger and used vehicles, and you will be trusted with diagnostics, servicing, repairs and inspections alongside an experienced team.
A trade qualification on paper is only the start. The employer wants technicians who can show the practical experience behind their credentials, and offers stable employment with the potential for long-term career progression.
South African mechanics should keep their trade test certificate ready, as trades are usually assessed again abroad.
Key Responsibilities
- Find mechanical and electronic faults with professional diagnostic equipment, using repair manuals, technical information and wiring diagrams
- Handle routine and logbook servicing and scheduled maintenance
- Repair passenger vehicles across a range of brands
- Carry out warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications
- Complete pre-delivery inspections and the relevant safety checks
- Record completed repairs accurately in workshop software
- Flag any extra repairs needed and explain findings clearly to the service team
- Follow dealership procedures, workplace safety standards and manufacturer guidelines, and keep your bay clean and organised
- Take part in technical training and keep up with new vehicle systems and repair methods
- Work with other technicians and help apprentices where needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, or a recognised qualification of equal level
- You hold a valid Motor Mechanic Trade Licence
- Minimum 2–3 years hands-on in automotive work, with servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs you can show
- Comfortable moving between different makes and models
- You can work from automotive technical manuals, wiring diagrams and OEM procedures
- Manufacturer warranty repair experience is advantageous
- Capable with diagnostic scan tools and workshop management software
- Careful, precise workmanship
- Punctual, dependable and easy to work with in a team
- A valid Australian driver's licence, preferably with manual driving capability
- Evidence of your relevant qualifications and work history; sponsorship available for eligible candidates who meet the role requirements
