Carpenter

This Sydney carpentry role is for tradespeople who build homes properly. Experienced Carpenters will work on premium residential projects throughout New South Wales, covering everything from fresh construction and renovations to structural work and top-end finishing.
The employer is looking for real house-building experience and a consistent standard of workmanship. Be ready to prove it: a traceable job history, the right qualifications and hands-on experience all count.
South African carpenters should know trades are usually assessed again for Australia, so keep your trade certificate and job references ready to show.
Key Responsibilities
- Turn out home carpentry, from new houses to renovation jobs, at a high level of finish
- Frame up, install, and handle structural timber work
- Take care of fine finishing and fit-out
- Read construction drawings and dimensions, then measure, cut and install materials precisely
- Take ownership of the tasks and site work given to you
- Keep up a good pace while staying accurate and producing quality work
- Coordinate with builders, supervisors and the other trades
- Sort out everyday carpentry issues as they come up on site
- Look after your tools and gear so they stay in working condition
- Stick to workplace safety procedures, leaving your area safe, neat and clean
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional background as a Carpenter, backed by solid practical understanding of house construction
- A relevant trade qualification, or practical experience that is equivalent
- Genuine residential carpentry work that can be verified, shown in a clear history of trade employment
- Can produce documents that support your employment or qualifications
- Current White Card
- Valid driver's licence plus reliable transport of your own
- A kit of standard carpentry tools that belongs to you
- Able to interpret plans and carry out technical instructions
- A consistent eye for detail and quality
- Can work independently with little supervision
- Reliable attendance, professional habits and good communication and teamwork
