Port Adelaide, South Australia: an established Australian infrastructure business needs a Directional Driller or Directional Drill Tracker. The title on your CV matters less than proof. Show the projects you have worked on, the HDD skills you use in practice and a record of being dependable.
Projects vary, and each one calls for consistent workmanship, sound technical knowledge and safe calls on site. Service locators are encouraged to apply as well. Overseas professionals who meet the eligibility, experience and skills criteria, and who genuinely want to build a long-term Australian career, can be sponsored if suitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate HDD (horizontal directional drilling) equipment and track the bore
- Drill on utility and infrastructure projects: gas, sewer, water, communications and power
- Work from the project requirements and the approved drilling procedures
- Watch how the drill is progressing and keep site operations efficient
- Where required, assist with locating services and pinpointing underground utilities
- Never let quality and safety standards slip, and comply with project systems, workplace procedures and compliance requirements
- Record operational and project details accurately
- Inspect the drilling equipment, care for it and report faults without delay
- Cooperate with supervisors, drill crews and other site personnel, keeping on-site communication clear and professional
- Recognise operational or safety risks early and respond the right way
- Keep workmanship consistent across varied projects, contributing to an organised, professional, safety-focused workplace
Requirements & Eligibility
- Professional experience in directional drilling or drill tracking, demonstrated
- Strong practical background in horizontal directional drilling operations
- Evidence that supports your earlier HDD employment and experience
- Accreditations, licences or qualifications relevant to the industry
- Advantageous: service locating experience
- Committed to workplace health and safety, as demonstrated, and professional about compliance, safety and quality
- Employment background that is consistent and reliable
- Strong people and communication skills; works effectively in a professional site team
