Key Responsibilities
- Run the wok station during service, from prep through to cooking
- Cook a range of Asian dishes with the right commercial techniques, keeping taste, portion size, plating and quality the same every time
- Get prep done quickly before service starts and keep it moving while orders come in
- Jump onto grill, fryer, pan or general prep when another section needs a hand, and adapt as service needs shift between sections
- Stick to food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures
- Help check stock levels, rotate it and keep kitchen inventory up to date
- Make the most of every ingredient so less food ends up in the bin
- Keep your station clean and in order from the first ticket to the last
- Work closely with the other chefs and kitchen staff
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or a recognised qualification of equal standing
- Minimum two years working a commercial wok station in a relevant role
- Hands-on, demonstrated background cooking Asian cuisine
- Solid practical skills on wok, grill, fryer and pan as well as in prep areas
- Can hold standards steady when service is under pressure, and fits into a fast-paced kitchen crew
- Understands commercial food safety and hygiene procedures
- A dependable, professional and cooperative way of working
- Free to work rotating rosters that include evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Can supply verifiable proof of your qualifications and relevant work history
