Wanted in Queensland: Chef de Partie professionals for a hotel kitchen that feeds restaurant diners, conference delegates and function and event guests. You take charge of a station and keep results steady when the pressure is on.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after a station on your own, from planning the day's prep through to mise en place
- Turn out food that meets the kitchen's quality and presentation benchmarks
- Hold the same standard whether the plate is for the restaurant, a function, an event or a large conference
- Portion carefully and make every ingredient count
- Rotate stock and help keep waste low
- Cooperate with senior chefs and the whole brigade
- Encourage junior cooks and help keep spirits up in the kitchen
- Keep hygiene, cleanliness and safety tight, following workplace health and safety rules
- Stay on top of things when service gets hectic
- Pick up more duties as your ability is proven
- Cover lunch, dinner, events and whatever else operations need
- Help the whole kitchen tick over smoothly
Requirements & Eligibility
- A track record as a Chef de Partie, or an equivalent role in commercial kitchens
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification
- Capable of running a station without someone watching over you
- Hands-on cooking and prep ability, gained in commercial kitchens with a mix of service styles
- You understand food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements
- Keeps standards consistent when things get tense
- A good communicator and team member who is dependable and professional
- Free to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous
- Australian work rights where applicable
