Cooking for an aged care home is about more than taste. Each resident has their own dietary needs, and every plate must be nutritious and enjoyable. This Chef Manager role in Coraki, near Lismore on the Far North Coast of New South Wales, puts you in charge of that whole kitchen.
You will lead the team, keep operations efficient and stay on top of food safety compliance. The employer wants an experienced Chef who can show proof of qualifications, real cooking skill and the ability to lead while holding high standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Run the kitchen day to day, organising food prep, schedules and workflow
- Lead, supervise and back up the kitchen team, building a positive, professional culture
- Plan and cook quality meals for residents, adjusting them for dietary, nutritional and personal needs
- Uphold food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures and stay compliant with workplace and food safety standards
- Check food quality, presentation and consistency
- Use food, equipment and kitchen resources wisely
- Find and introduce improvements to the kitchen and dining service
- Work alongside care and support staff
- Build respectful relationships with residents, their families and co-workers
Requirements & Eligibility
- Recognised Chef qualification, backed by supporting documents that can be verified, and evidence of your qualifications and relevant work history
- Demonstrated experience working as a professional Chef
- Previous experience supervising or managing a kitchen
- Has cooked in high-volume or large-scale catering operations
- Strong knowledge of food safety and HACCP requirements
- Able to prepare varied, nutritious, high-quality meals and understands dietary and nutritional needs
- Strong leadership, communication and people skills
- Dependable and organised in how you manage a kitchen
- Previous aged care, healthcare, hospitality or institutional catering experience is advantageous
- Able to meet applicable Australian employment and visa requirements; employer sponsorship is available for eligible international candidates
