Work four days, then take three off. This Chef role in Mascot, Sydney runs on a 4-days-on, 3-days-off roster, giving you a set pattern and proper time to rest.
The kitchen wants a Chef de Partie with genuine professional kitchen experience who can hold their own in high-volume service. You will cook beside an experienced Executive Chef and a skilled team, putting what you already know to work, moving across different sections and continuing to grow.
Restaurant, pub or hotel kitchen time from back home counts. Have your references and a clear work history ready so your experience can be shown.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook dishes to the kitchen's set standards, keeping flavour, quality and plating consistent
- Move confidently between kitchen sections as needed
- Help with prep and service when trade is busy, juggling competing tasks without dropping standards
- Stick to steady, accurate prep and service routines
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures, keeping benches and prep areas clean and tidy
- Keep presentation sharp in an open kitchen where guests can see you work
- Talk clearly and work well with the other chefs and team members
- Help keep the kitchen efficient, respectful and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- 2–3 years of professional kitchen experience in restaurants, pubs or hotels, covering more than one section
- Able to show practical cooking skills and relevant work history, with a solid grasp of how professional kitchens run
- Keeps standards up when service is busy, multitasks and works well under pressure
- Communicates well and works as part of a team
- Dependable and on time, with a strong eye for detail
- Professionally presented and keeps personal hygiene high
- Available for late-night shifts
- Positive and keen to learn
- Committed to quality and ongoing professional development
