The New South Wales kitchen is modern and purpose-built, and the menu mixes long-time favourites with fresh seasonal dishes. The employer is looking for a Chef with genuine hands-on experience across several sections who delivers quality food when service is flat out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up ingredients, equipment and stations before each service
  • Run several sections, including grill, pans, fryers and larder
  • Turn out classic dishes and seasonal specials to the kitchen's standards, with portions, quality and plating kept consistent
  • Adapt meals for customers with dietary needs where it makes sense
  • Check that ingredients are fresh, good quality and stored correctly
  • Watch stock levels, help order supplies, rotate stock and keep waste down
  • Keep the kitchen spotless, orderly and safe, following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
  • Work fast and accurately through high-volume, time-pressured services
  • Keep communication clear with fellow chefs and kitchen staff, and suggest menu improvements and new dishes
  • Help the kitchen run smoothly in a seven-day trading operation

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven professional experience working as a Chef
  • Hands-on time on grill, pans, fryers and larder
  • Can show culinary work history that is genuine and verifiable
  • Solid practical understanding of how a professional kitchen operates
  • Holds quality and consistency through busy services, with close attention to how food looks and tastes
  • Knows food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures, and understands stock management and cutting waste
  • Works on their own and as a useful part of a team
  • Positive and dependable about workplace duties
  • Happy to work day, evening and weekend shifts
  • Current Food Safety Certificate
  • Committed to full-time employment for the required period; sponsorship consideration available for exceptional candidates after six months of full-time employment
