Front of House Supervisor

Hospitality · South Melbourne, Melbourne VIC, Australia · Full-Time · $80,000/yr

When service gets busy, someone has to own the floor. A growing hospitality business in South Melbourne, Victoria, wants an experienced Front of House Supervisor who has done exactly that: led a team for real, made dependable calls and kept things moving under pressure.

This is a hands-on leadership job. You run the FOH team, hold service standards and help guests get a consistently positive experience. Genuine hospitality experience is the focus, so be ready to spell out past responsibilities, how you lead and what you know about front-of-house operations. A reference letter from each previous venue makes that much easier.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run front-of-house during service, from the doors opening to closing time
  • Place staff across service stations and give the team direction
  • Hand over each shift properly so the important details get passed on
  • Keep an eye on how service flows and deal with operational hiccups as they come
  • Give guests consistent, professional service, and handle their enquiries and any problems properly
  • Look after POS transactions, orders and cash
  • Keep the kitchen and floor in sync so service runs efficiently
  • Check FOH cleanliness, presentation and food safety, and hold workplace and service standards through every shift
  • Help train and develop FOH team members
  • Jump into operational tasks at peak times and lead by example with professional conduct and high work standards

  • Stays calm, effective and organised when service is busy
  • Reliable, with a strong sense of responsibility
  • A professional approach to hospitality and a positive attitude
