The job sits with a professional equipment service team in Lonsdale, Adelaide SA, and moves between the workshop, customer premises and regional sites rather than one workplace or one kind of machine.
It suits a tradesperson who likes working out mechanical problems on heavy processing equipment and takes ownership of keeping critical machinery reliable. The focus is preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, repairs and customer support. Pay is up to $55 per hour plus allowances, with company resources, ongoing training and long-term employment benefits.

Key Responsibilities
- Service and maintain heavy processing equipment, both mobile and stationary, including inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs and pre-delivery prep
- Get to the root cause when equipment breaks down
- Find and fix hydraulic faults with pressure and flow testing, working from hydraulic schematics, service manuals and OEM documents, and repair or replace components where required
- Troubleshoot 12V and 24V electrical control systems, reading the schematics and testing voltage and continuity
- Travel to customer sites for technical service and breakdown callouts, covering metropolitan, regional and remote locations as required
- Assess the condition of machines and recommend corrective or preventative work
- Write detailed service and technical reports once jobs are done
- Record inspections, repairs, test results, equipment settings and photographs accurately
- Work to OEM specifications, workplace procedures and safety standards
- Deal with customers directly and offer practical technical fixes
- Help customers cut downtime and keep their plant running reliably
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised trade qualification in Fitting, Boilermaking, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- At least 2 years of post-trade experience in a relevant mechanical setting
- Has worked on quarry, mining or fixed-plant equipment, and on heavy industrial or mobile machinery
- Crushing, screening or mineral processing equipment experience highly regarded
- Strong at mechanical troubleshooting, repair, problem-solving and fault-finding
- Good hands-on knowledge of hydraulic systems, and can read hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Basic electrical diagnostic skills on 12V and 24V systems
- Full unrestricted Australian C Class Driver Licence, or able to get one
- HR and forklift licences advantageous
- Willing to work in the workshop, at customer premises and on site, and to travel to regional and remote locations
- Physically fit for hands-on mechanical work
- Able to meet pre-employment medical requirements and pass drug and alcohol screening
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

- Communicates professionally, gives good customer service, and works well alone or with others
