Trailers leave this Rocklea, Brisbane QLD workshop finished from frame to final system check, and the experienced MIG Welder hired here will be part of that whole journey. The busy trailer manufacturing operation is offering a permanent, full-time position.
Welding is just part of it. The employer wants a hands-on tradesperson with real-world experience in trailer fitting, assembly and installing mechanical and electrical components. Accuracy, consistency and practical problem-solving matter at every stage, from structural fabrication to the final checks.

Key Responsibilities
- MIG weld steel trailer frames, chassis and related components
- Prep, position and assemble fabricated trailer sections, checking drawings, welding specs and measurements before you start
- Fit chassis, suspension, brakes and other trailer components, plus accessories and custom features
- Install air, electrical and hydraulic systems where required, and test them before the job is signed off
- Use welding machines, hand tools and measuring gear correctly
- Check weld integrity, dimensions and the quality of the finished assembly
- Flag and report any non-conforming materials, components or workmanship
- Keep workshop practices safe and organised, working with the production team to keep things flowing
- Finish work to the required quality, safety and production standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of hands-on welding experience
- Has worked in trailer assembly or trailer manufacturing before
- Strong MIG welding ability on steel
- Can understand and work from blueprints and technical drawings
- Competent with workshop tools and measuring equipment
- Practical understanding of trailer chassis, suspension and braking components
- Experience with air, hydraulic or electrical trailer systems is advantageous
- Can demonstrate genuine practical trade experience
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship that stays consistent
- Reliable attendance, takes production responsibilities seriously and is safety-conscious in a manufacturing setting
- Welding certification is advantageous but not essential
- Sponsorship is on offer for suitable candidates
