Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld on custom projects, producing quality parts in steel, aluminium and stainless steel
- Read workshop drawings, technical plans and project specs, and choose the right fabrication method and welding technique
- Run fabrication machines, tools and workshop gear safely
- Do installation and field work as required
- Work out practical, trade-based answers to problems as they come up
- Team up with project staff to hit quality targets and deadlines
- Keep work accurate, detailed and to a professional standard, following health and safety requirements at all times
- Share technical knowledge and ideas to support continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- A relevant trade qualification in Metal Fabrication, Boilermaking, Welding or something similar
- Demonstrated experience in professional fabrication and welding settings, with strong technical skills and past projects you can show
- Competent at reading and understanding engineering drawings
- Has worked with a range of metals and fabrication processes
- A strong commitment to quality, reliability and safety at work
- Works well alone and as part of a team, solving problems practically with attention to detail
- Willing to do workshop-based work and occasional site-based duties
- Overseas-qualified tradespeople with experience that can be verified are encouraged to apply
- Candidates who meet the skill, qualification and experience requirements may be eligible for employer sponsorship
