Production Team Member/Supervisor

A growing food manufacturer in East Tamaki, Auckland wants someone to own its production floor: a Food Production Supervisor / Operator who keeps manufacturing on track and makes sure each batch is up to standard. Your experience, reliability and attention to detail will directly affect what gets made each day.
This is not a desk job. Alongside a small crew, you will be involved from ingredient prep and batching to machine operation, quality checks, cleaning and coordination. Food manufacturing experience is expected, along with the confidence to carry production targets, food safety, quality and team support, moving between supervising and doing the work as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Set the daily production plan, share tasks out across the team, and keep manufacturing safe, efficient and on schedule
- Check, weigh and measure every ingredient precisely before batching products to the approved recipe
- Operate fillers, mixers and the rest of the manufacturing equipment, monitoring machines and processes for smooth running
- Keep products consistent through every stage, completing quality checks and picking up issues quickly
- Enforce food safety and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements and keep processes and recipe controls accurate
- Handle cleaning, sanitising and daily equipment washdowns so production areas stay tidy and meet workplace standards
- Watch the day's production targets and help the operation run more efficiently
- Coach and back up production staff, and partner with the Production Manager to fix operational problems
- Get orders and production requirements finished correctly and when due
- Stick to all Health & Safety procedures, raise hazards or issues, and jump in on any production task when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Background in food manufacturing or commercial food production that you can prove
- Prior work as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Production Operator or something similar
- Has worked under an approved food control plan
- Deep understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality standards
- Practical experience running food manufacturing machinery, for example mixers, fillers or comparable equipment
- Precise with recipes, measurements and manufacturing procedures, and committed to consistent products and fine detail
- Can lead and back up a small team on the production floor
- Comfortable in a hands-on production role and efficient enough to meet daily targets
- Dependable, hardworking and fit for production and cleaning duties, including repetitive work and washdowns
- Strong organiser and communicator
- Picks up new machinery and production systems fast
- Keeps the workplace clean and safe
- Advantageous: a current forklift licence
- Sponsorship is available to an overseas candidate with suitable qualifications
