Key Responsibilities

  • Run CNC punch, laser, tube laser and press brake machines, setting up equipment for the scheduled jobs
  • Work to technical drawings and production specs
  • Measure and check parts at each stage of manufacture so quality stays accurate and consistent
  • Spot production problems and deal with them where it makes sense
  • Stick to safe operating procedures and site rules, and keep the production area clean, tidy and organised
  • Work with the production crew to reach daily targets
  • Use your trade know-how to get better manufacturing results, proposing safer, faster and more effective methods
  • Back continuous improvement across production

Requirements & Eligibility

  • At least 2 years of hands-on CNC operation experience
  • Has run punch, laser, tube laser or press brake machinery
  • Trumpf experience is highly desirable
  • 2+ years of relevant sheet metal trades experience may also be considered
  • Proven technical knowledge of how sheet metal is manufactured
  • Precise, with a first-time-right approach to workmanship, and follows technical instructions and production specs
  • Committed to safety and quality standards at work
  • Works well in a production team and offers practical ideas to improve processes
  • Available for fixed day, night or graveyard shifts, and able to work at least 40 hours per week
  • Anyone seeking sponsorship must meet the relevant New Zealand visa requirements
