Team Leader

Trade · Newborough, West Gippsland & Latrobe Valley VIC, Australia · Full-Time · $42 - $43/hr

On shift you are the person care staff turn to: guiding the team, coordinating residents' care and making sure everyone is treated with dignity, respect and compassion. This Team Leader position in Victorian residential aged care is for qualified Endorsed Enrolled Nurses ready to step into leadership.

Selection is about confirming you hold the credentials, registrations and practical ability to take charge of a care team, not just filling a vacancy. You will be assessed on your qualifications, AHPRA registration, medication endorsement, required clearances and ability to meet the role's genuine requirements. The job is permanent, full-time or part-time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the go-to person on the floor, making sure residents get safe, respectful care built around them
  • Organise what each resident in your area needs and oversee care workers on your shifts, coaching them as you go
  • Keep nurses and clinical staff in the loop so there are no gaps in care
  • Look after residents' bodies, moods and social lives, shaping care to their own wishes, needs and goals
  • Handle medication tasks only within the scope you are authorised for
  • Check that residents eat and drink well and get help with it when they need it
  • Join in pressure care and other clinical tasks
  • Help make sure care notes are correct and complete
  • Keep the team talking openly and use the home's care systems and technology
  • Work by the workplace's health and safety rules and keep infection control tight
  • Add to a professional, supportive culture where residents come first

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Diploma of Enrolled Nursing, or a recognised qualification that is equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
  • Authority to give medication within the relevant scope of your profession
  • Current National Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or you are willing to get one
  • You can show proof of your qualifications and registration
  • You are honest, dependable and accountable, and you communicate and relate well to people
  • You can supervise, direct and back up other carers, and you care deeply about compassionate aged care that puts the person first
  • You know how to work safely and how infection prevention and control works
  • You are comfortable on workplace computer systems and keen to keep learning
  • Previous residential aged care experience will be highly regarded
